FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC CENTER

Dear Mrs. Florence,

We are pleased that your condition has improved in so many ways through chiropractic care.  Different spinal nerve levels supply different structures, similar to how a circuit breaker routes electricity to different areas in your house. Cervical levels 3, 4, & 5 supply nerve innervation to the diaphragm muscle, through the phrenic nerve. ("C3, C4, C5 - Keep the diaphragm alive!")  A subluxation of one or more of these vertebrae, apply pressure on these nerves, which will affect the diaphragm. Symptoms can range from hiccups, dry cough, being 'winded', to trouble breathing. Diaphragmatic ability is crucial in vocal performance.  It can affect the ability to maintain a note when singing, or to project the voice loudly and forcefully.  In January, I found that you had subluxation of C3 and C4, which were counter-rotated (twisted in opposite directions). This means that four of the six nerves (which join and become the phrenic nerves) supplying the diaphragm were impinged. This would have had an effect on your diaphragmatic ability, which as mentioned above, is very important for singing. By correcting the Vertebral Subluxation Complex of C3 and C4, your body experiences restored nerve comunication to the diaphragm, allowing the musculature to heal and improve functioning.

I hope this answers questions with regard to chiropractic treatment and care for your condition.

Sincerely
